Designed for your project. We kept two things in mind when we designed our hangers. We wanted it to complement your project while providing a strong, worry-free product. Our lantern, or plant, hangers are hand forged from 1/4" thick and 3/4" wide mild steel. The hook is 1 1/4" wide to accommodate a variety of uses.

The lantern, or plant, hanger is forged from a single piece of iron. After cutting the piece to length, we carefully remove any burrs on the cut ends and any corners. The raw iron is then heated and shaped in traditional blacksmith fashion using fire, anvil, hammer and an assortment of hand tools to achieve the final shape. Since our products are forged by hand, each item will vary slightly. If ordering multiple items, we strive to ship items that are very similar.
The lantern hangers have a wax applied to them while still warm from the forging process. If they are to be used outdoors without protection from the elements, we suggest that you apply an exterior paint designed for metal surfaces. We have found that the applied wax works well for interior and sheltered areas.
Installation Instructions
The hangers will be shipped with holes drilled in them for mounting. The holes will be drilled to accommodate two #12 wood screws. For maximum holding strength, we do recommend using two of our 1/4" lag screws though. If you would like for us to enlarge the holes to accommodate the lag screws, please email us when you place your order. Our traditional round head, slotted screws and square head lag screws are available separately. Either would make a fine addition to your hanger.
