Drive Hook - standard tip

The drive hook is forged from a single piece of iron. After cutting the piece to length, we carefully remove any burrs from the cut ends and corners. The raw iron is then heated and shaped in traditional blacksmith fashion using fire, anvil, hammer and an assortment of hand tools to achieve the final shape. The "drive" part of the hook acts as a built-in nail for hanging the hook. We strongly recommend drilling a pilot hole before driving the hook into softwoods or hardwoods. Since our products are forged by hand, each item will vary slightly. If ordering multiple items, we will strive to ship items that are very similar.

Our drive hooks have a wax applied to them while still warm from the forging process. If they are to be used outdoors without protection from the elements, we suggest that you apply an exterior paint designed for metal surfaces. We have found that the applied wax works well for interior and sheltered areas.
